"Voices from the OFF"

In the middle of the pandemic, when cultural workers were getting quieter again in the constant change between ON and OFF mode, I wanted to work with the regional cultural promoter diePOP to make the local cultural scene more heard again. We asked the affected musicians what helps them not to lose heart in difficult moments, whereupon we received so many constructive answers. These personal life mottos, rituals and treasures of experience also served as a source of inspiration for me. Here are some illustrations to their statements.
"Music in Pictures I"
A series of images inspired by music
Music leaves traces. For me, especially in the sketchbook, because it is an important source of inspiration for me. Initiated by the Thuringian music promoter "diePOP", I got involved in the exciting experiment of drawing a picture for each of the 14 songs and band names of the Thuringian sampler "Spuren". The album is a colorful collection of a wide variety of music genres from the Thuringian music landscape - from indie to pop to metal - sponsored by LAG Songkultur, the non-profit association and umbrella organization for popular music in Thuringia. In the video you get an audio sample of the 18 titles of the Thuringia sampler „Spuren“, a collection of songs by various Thuringian bands, whose music became the inspiration for one picture each. Here you can download the complete CD for free.
